Dylan Elk’s Ephemera

I reckon if this is going to be my top viewed post, I should write something more interesting than what was here previously.  Dylan Elk is my nom de plume.  My true name shall remain secret until they open the 7th scroll.

I am a middle-aged middle-class white man in the valley of his very own mid-life crises.  I live in the United States of America, which I love, but I often feel like I am a serf in a corporate fiefdom. I have been put on this earth, apparently, to scoop cat turds and pay bills. I am a closet Christian with liberal to moderate politics, currently hiding his light under a bushel. I am in desperate pursuit of my dharma and work in a cubicle, like Winston Smith, ciphering and thinking.

I have the imagination of Larry Flynt and the conscience of St. Augustine.  I was subjected to many years of Catholology. Turn-offs: hate, women cursing and hairless animals.

After considerable mulling & thunking I have come to believe that there is a God and I recommend him/her or not.

I like to write, I hope to elicit visceral vs. cerebral reactions. Its hit or miss. If I hit, please let me know (see comments)

I am a decent father and married but currently separated. (see mid-life crises)

I’m not as well read as I should be, but like the Romantic Poets as well as the later poets W.B. Yeats, Dylan Thomas, Charles Bukowski. I like fiction and literature and have recently read Ian McEwen, John Banville, Mailer, Hesse and Hemingway. I tend to prefer sparse, terse writing.

I am thrilled that you have come here to read my stuff. I love e-mail as well.
